12 members of the Syrian army’s auxiliary forces were killed in violent attacks by ISIS on the Homs and Hama deserts.
Sources of the Syrian Documentation Center have reported that 12 members of the auxiliary forces of the Syrian army lost their lives as a result of violent attacks carried out by the ISIS terrorists towards their military points in the Badia region of the countryside of Homs and Hama.
The sources pointed out that the terrorist attacks took place about 3 points of the auxiliary forces, between the “Al-Sukhnah” area in the countryside of Homs and “Athria” in the countryside of Hama, and the militants used several car bombs in it, causing violent clashes between the 2 sides, which lasted for about 5 hours Tuesday, until the early morning hours of Wednesday.
The sources emphasized that the violent attacks that occurred didn’t achieve any progress in favor of the ISIS terrorists in the area, as the Syrian army and the forces supporting it confronted them, while the sources considered that the current attack is the most violent of its kind during the Badia battles that have raged for nearly 2 months.
The Syrian army had recently started a sweeping operation in the Deir Al-Zour-Homs desert region, after ISIS terrorists deliberately targeted travel buses on the road linking the 2 cities, in conjunction with the continuing battles between the 2 parties within the Aleppo-Hama-Raqqa triangle, which began about two months ago, after the resurgence of the terrorist organization’s activity and their assault on the villages and towns of the area.
Although most of the clashes and mutual targeting between the Syrian army and ISIS terrorists occurred within the Aleppo-Hama-Raqqa triangle, it was noticed recently that the intensity of the battles has increased from the eastern Homs Badia, which witnessed violent clashes last week, which resulted in the deaths of more than 14 ISIS militant, and 3 military vehicles belonging to them were destroyed, following an attack in which the militants tried to advance towards the points of the Syrian army, which succeeded in confronting them and forcing them to withdraw.
