The Central Bank clarified that these rumors aim to undermine the confidence in the national currency and are in the interest of speculators.

The statement added that based on the above, the Central Bank of Syria calls on fellow citizens to be wary of rumors that targets them, whether those broadcast by social media pages or some analysts who claim expertise.

The bank also stressed the necessity of accreditation in everything related to the monetary policy and its procedures only through the official website of the Central Bank of Syria and the social media of the bank.

Last month, the Central Bank of Syria issued a new denomination of paper currency, valued at 5000 Syrian pounds, announcing that it would be put on the market for circulation.

Noting that the introduction of the new category comes at a time when the country is witnessing difficult economic conditions and significant increases in the prices of various materials in it, as a result of the ongoing war and illegal economic sanctions imposed by America and the European countries.
