With the aim of separating the areas under its control, Turkey begins building a border wall in northern Syria

The Turkish practices aimed at separating the areas under its control from the rest of the Syrian territories continue, the last of which is the border wall which the Turkish forces began building on Monday, at a depth of about 30 km inside the northern Syrian territories.

The process of building those artificial borders comes within the framework of a clear and continuous Turkification policy aimed at preparing an attempt to annex these areas to Turkish territory after its occupation.

The SDC sources reported that the Turkish forces began building the border wall in the “Tal Abyad” area where they control, at a depth of 32 km from the Turkish border towards the Syrian territories, that is, along the M4 international highway around the city of Ain Issa, about / 15 / km long.

The Turkish forces are also working to reinforce the new border wall with new illegal military bases and observation points, which are scheduled to be linked with the five bases Turkey had established last year, which overlook the villages and towns located along the Hasakah-Aleppo international highway.

The step of building the wall reveals, once again, the existence of real Turkish intentions to seize the Syrian lands under the control of Turkey and its factions, with the aim of annexing Turkish lands and “legitimizing” their presence there, especially that this step coincides with a clear Turkish policy applied to various areas there to erase the Syrian identity.

There are many methods that Turkey uses in its policy of erasing the Syrian identity from the areas under its control through decisions imposed on the people, such as dealing with specific Turkish service companies, dealing with Turkish currency only, and imposing Turkish language and curricula in schools, in addition to expelling the original residents from their homes, and the place the militants instead.
