New Russian training for the Syrian army on sniping and camouflage
The Russian forces are conducting military training for the Syrian army, related to sniper units and camouflage methods, within the framework of the existing military alliance between the two countries, and a program initiated by Russian experts to develop the capabilities of the Syrian army in several combat areas.
Russian “tvzvezda” website quoting the officer in charge of the exercises: “Syrian snipers have extensive experience in combat operations, but they need to know more about tactics, especially the methods of camouflage movements, which are focused on in the existing exercises.“
The Russian officer explained that the exercises also include how to hide behind trees for sniping, and shoot accurately at a distance of 500 meters, in addition to transferring the Russian experience about making camouflage suits from scrap materials.
The recent Russian exercises come as a complement to the program to develop the capabilities of the sniper units in the Syrian army, which began on the eighth of this month, through exercises that focused on camouflage methods and taking safe positions in shelters or pits, in addition to the tactics of moving quickly between geographical terrain, and the use of topography during battles.
