The SDF carries out a new raid campaign in the countryside of “Deir Al-Zour”.
With the support of American helicopters, the “SDF” carried out a new campaign of raids targeting villages in the western and northern countryside of Deir Al-Zour, under the pretext of pursuing militants from ISIS cells and other people who deal with the Turkish “National Army” factions.
Sources of the Syrian Documentation Center reported that the “SDF” patrols raided the villages of “Abu Khashab” on Thursday morning, after they cordoned the area, and arresting 4 persons, who were transferred by US helicopters to an unknown destination.
After the “Abu Khashab” area, the SDF raids moved to the village of “Al-Jasmi”, north of Deir Al-Zour, where its militants surrounded 3 houses in the village before storming it, and arrested 4 of them on charges of joining ISIS.
Deir Al-Zour countryside has been witnessing for several months, raids and arbitrary arrest campaigns carried out by the “SDF” periodically, either alone or with the participation of the American forces supporting them, the pretexts of most of these raids are that they’re searching for ISIS cells, or youth to take what is called the “forced conscription”, while the real reason behind these arrests is to blackmail the detainees’ families and force them to pay sums of money in exchange for the release of their sons.
With the increase in the frequency of arbitrary raids carried out by the SDF, the state of popular anger against them is increasing, especially in the eastern countryside of Deir Al-Zour, where the SDF’s most intense campaigns are concentrated, noting that some of these campaigns turn into direct confrontations between the SDF militants and the people, who refused their presence, as happened about a week ago in the town of “Abu Hamam”, when civilians confronted the SDF militants, trying to prevent them from leaving the town after the arrest of 10 of its residents.
