Russian Defense Ministry: /26/ attacks by “Al-Nusra Front” in the “de-escalation” zone northern Syria
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had monitored new violations of the “de-escalation” agreement in northwest Syria, carried out by the militants of the “Al-Nusra Front” organization, which is on the list of international terrorism and backed by Turkey.
The deputy director of the Russian “Hmeimim” Center in Syria, Major General Vadim Kolet, said that 26 attacks with rocket-propelled grenades were monitored by “Al-Nusra” militants, who targeted throughout the day, Wednesday, the areas of the Syrian state in the northwest of the country.
Major General Colt clarified that the “Al-Nusra” attacks were distributed as 11 attacks in “Idlib” governorate, the same in “Lattakia” governorate, in addition to /3/ attacks on the “Aleppo” governorate, and one attack on “Hama” governorate.
Al-Nusra’s attacks on the areas of the Syrian state in the northwest of the country reflect the continuing Turkish failure to control the organization and the rest of its armed factions, and to compel them to the “de-escalation” agreement concluded between Russia and Turkey in the region, mostly last months, during which the frequency of attacks and violations of the agreement increased by Ankara militants.
The Syrian army is facing the attacks of Ankara factions by responding directly to the sources of fire and targeting the gatherings of militants that are constantly recorded on the fighting fronts south of Idlib, which warns of the possibility of Turkish forces starting a new military operation towards the areas of the Syrian state.
