The town of “Mahja” and a number of surrounding villages joined the settlement agreements in the northern countryside of Daraa, according to the terms proposed by the Syrian state and agreed upon in the province.

An informed SDC source said that dozens of wanted civilians and soldiers joined the settlements in the town of “Mahja” and the villages of “Aasim”, “Al-Mutla”, “Al-Zarayer”, “Jadal” and “Sour”, in the settlement center set up by the Syrian state in “Lajat”.

In parallel, the source added that the weapons were handed over to the Syrian army with the aim of restoring normal life, security and stability to the area, while the mayor of Mahja, Nidal Hoshan, indicated in a press statement that: “The state opens its arms to its citizens who have been deceived and lost the way, by settling their conditions and handing over the weapons, if any, in order to return to their normal lives without being pursued.”

For his part, the mayor of the village of “Al-Boir” noted to the people’s satisfaction with the settlements, indicating that “it is necessary to cooperate to protect the homeland, which has given so much to live in dignity. He also pointed to the influx of dozens from the surrounding villages, which indicates the success of the settlements and the credibility of the state to forgive everyone settling his situation.”

The settlements of “Mahja” and its surroundings came after a series of settlements launched in the neighborhoods of “Daraa Al-Balad”, including the countryside of the governorate, so that Daraa became a safe governorate for the civilians to live under the control of the state.
