On Saturday morning the Turkish forces renewed their bombings of the SDF positions in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah, as part of their months long military escalation in northern Syria.

Sources of the Syrian Documentation Center reported that the Turkish artillery targeted the villages of “Al-Dardara”, “Tal Shanan” and “Tawila”, which are under the control of the “SDF” in the countryside of “Tal Tamer”, in addition to the village of “Zarkan” located in the countryside of “Abu Rasin” without any casualties, material damage was caused to some civilian homes within the targeted villages especially in Dardara.

In a related context, Turkish artillery targeted this morning the villages of “Al-Baylouniyah” and “Ain Digna” in the northern countryside of Aleppo, with a number of shells that caused material damage to civilian property.

The pace of Turkish military escalation in northern Syria has recently increased, especially within the northern countryside of Aleppo, where Turkey threatens to invade the city of “Tal Rifaat”, amid the continued mobilization of its military forces in the area, which the Syrian army is facing in turn by strengthening its forces in the vicinity of the city, and by bringing in military pieces heavy weight to the region, in preparation for confronting any Turkish attempt to attack the region.

The Turkish threat to invade Tel Rifaat prompted the Russian side to try to intervene and play the role of mediator in order to avoid the Turkish forces launching a new military operation north of Aleppo, and conduct of political and military contacts with Ankara to ensure that the ceasefire regime applies throughout the Syrian territory.
