The sheikh of the “Al-Bu Saleh” clan was injured and his brother was killed in an attack carried out in the eastern countryside of Deir Al-Zour.
A state of security tension prevailed in the areas of the eastern Deir Al-Zour countryside, accompanied by a large spread of militants from the “Al-Bu Saleh” clan, among several villages in the area, against the background of the injury of the clan’s sheikh “Mohammed Al-Asaad Al-Badr” and the killing of his brother, as a result of an attack by unknown militants.
Sources of the Syrian Documentation Center reported that the Sheikh of the “Al-Bu Saleh” clan was subjected to an assassination attempt on Saturday morning by unknown militants.
The sources pointed out that the attack on Sheikh “Mohammed Al-Asaad Al-Badr” resulted in his injury and the death of his brother, who was with him while the attackers managed to escape without arresting them or knowing their identity.
As a result of the incident, the village of Jazarat Al-Bu Hamid and the surrounding villages in the eastern countryside of Deir Al-Zour witnessed a heavy deployment of militants from the clan, amid accusations by some of the involvement of “SDF” in the attempt to assassinate the sheikh.
The spread of the clan’s gunmen coincided with the erection of several checkpoints at the entrances to the village of “Al Bu Hamid Island”, at a time when the “SDF” did not comment on the incident, or moved to try to arrest the perpetrators of the attack against the clan’s sheikh and his brother.
The attempt to assassinate Sheikh “Al-Badr” reflects part of the security weakness prevalent in various areas under the control of the US-backed “SDF”, especially in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which is constantly witnessing murders, assassinations and bombings.
