The targeting of an SDF headquarters in Deir Al-Zour and conflicting about the identity of the attackers.
Yesterday, unknown militants targeted a military headquarters of the “SDF” in the city of “Al-Baseera” in the eastern countryside of Deir Al-Zour.
The sources reported that the headquarters of the SDF’s “Al-Baseera Brigade” was attacked with RPGs, which led to the destruction of parts of it, so that the exchange of missiles between the SDF militants and the attacking group began after the attack.
According to the sources, the “SDF” sent reinforcements to the area after the clashes, and prevented access to the headquarters site, as the results of the attack and the number of casualties among its members were unknown, while the attackers withdrew from the area.
There was conflicting information about the identity of the group that attacked the SDF headquarters, as local sources suggested that it was from ISIS cells, while other sources denied this, and said that the attack was carried out by the “popular resistance” that arose against the “SDF” in the Syrian Jazeera, especially from the sons of Arab clans.
The SDF’s practices against civilians resulted in great popular discontent, especially in terms of its alliance with the American forces in stealing Syrian oil, gas and wheat and smuggling them abroad, in addition to arresting young men for forcibly recruiting them into its ranks.
Deir Al-Zour and its countryside had previously witnessed clashes between the SDF and members of the Arab tribes, in addition to the outbreak of popular demonstrations that continue from time to time, against the presence and practices of the SDF.
