New fighting between Ankara’s factions in “Afrin” north of Aleppo.

A new fight erupted between the Turkish factions in Afrin, which is under their control in the northern countryside of Aleppo, following disputes over citizens’ properties that had previously been seized by the militants of Ankara.

The sources reported that violent clashes erupted this morning at the arc of “Afrin”, between the Turkish “Syrian Front” and “Sultan Murad” factions, which resulted in several deaths and injuries on both sides.

The sources indicated that the new fighting between the 2 factions came as a result of disputes over the seizure of shops and houses, located at the eastern entrance to the city of “Afrin”, and owned by civilians who are within the areas of the Syrian state.

The sources indicated that both the “Sultan Murad” and “Al-Jabha al-Shamiya” factions had been trying to seize the entirety of these properties for a while, which ignited disputes between them, which quickly developed to the point of clashing with light and medium weapons.

Although the most intense clashes between the 2 factions actually appeared this morning, but it began yesterday evening with a militant of “Sultan Murad” stabbing a militant from the “Syrian Front” in the “Ashrafiyeh” neighborhood, due to the same dispute related to one of the seized houses.

The stabbing incident resulted in great tension between the 2 factions, which brought military reinforcements to the neighborhood, with all its entrances and exits closed. Sporadic clashes erupted between them, which ended with the withdrawal of all the militants to their headquarters, before the clashes renewed this morning.

The neighborhoods in which the militants of the 2 factions are present in the city of “Afrin” are currently witnessing a kind of curfew, as most of the people have refrained from opening their shops or leaving their homes, for fear of the ongoing fighting, especially since the state of tension between the militants of the 2 parties still exists, without no intervention by Turkish forces in order to control the situation.
