The sources reported that warplanes carried out about 12 raids on ISIS caves, caves and fortifications, which were monitored by drones in the “Sukhnah” desert, east of “Homs” and other areas of the “Deir Al-Zour” desert.

The sources pointed out that one of the raids carried out by Syrian and Russian warplanes in the “Sukhnah” desert resulted in the killing of 12 ISIS militants within one of the fortifications destroyed by the warplanes, with the destruction of 3 military vehicles belonging to ISIS as well.

As a result of the air strikes that were carried out in both the Badia of “Sukhna” and “Deir Al-Zour”, about 20 ISIS militants were killed, which makes the death toll of the organization’s losses as a result of these targeting to more than 30 militants dead and wounded.

The joint Syrian-Russian air force had previously carried out similar raids at the beginning of this year on groups of ISIS militants in the “Al-Rusafa” desert in the countryside of Raqqa, which were preparing to carry out an attack on the areas of the Syrian state.

Since the re-emergence of ISIS cells in the Syrian Badia after the facilities and support they received from the American forces, both Syria and Russia have been pursuing these cells and ending their presence from the Syrian Badia, through a joint military operation in which the joint air force undertakes the task of monitoring and targeting the militants’ sites from the air, while the Syrian army units are sweeping the area by land from ISIS cells.
