An official in the Self Administration was dismissed for supporting the people of Deir Al-Zour

The sources reported that the “Self-Administration” dismissed the head of “Deir Al-Zour” Civil Council affiliated to it, “Ghassan Al-Yousef” from his position.

The sources attributed the reason for the dismissal of “Al-Youssef” to his position in support of the people of Deir Al-Zour and the Arab tribes in the region to have a role in managing their region, and to keep foreigners away from the leadership positions in the “Self-Administration” that controls the fate of the area.

The sources pointed out that the decision to dismiss Al-Youssef came from leaders of the Kurdistan Workers Party, which implicitly, albeit undeclared, controls the SDF’s policies and decisions, but the Self Administration avoided issuing any statement in this regard, denying or confirming.

The “Self Administration” is heading to appoint the head of the “Future Syria” party, “Mohammed al-Rajab” as an alternative to “Al-Youssef”, while civil activists prepared to take action in the street to express their rejection of the decision, as they considered that “Al-Youssef” expresses their demands.

At the end of last year, “Al-Youssef” was subjected to an assassination attempt, from which he survived, amid accusations of “SDF” involvement in it, while the state of popular resentment against the “SDF” and its practices escalates specifically in Deir Al-Zour, and some attribute its policies against the people of the region to nationalistic reasons, in light of the American support.
