Civilian casualties, including a child, due to clashes between “ISIS” and “SDF” in al-Hol camp
Yesterday, Monday night, clashes erupted between ISIS armed members and the “Asayish” forces of the “SDF” in the “Al-Hol” camp in the eastern countryside of Hasaka.
SDC local sources said that the Asayish announced a security alert in the camp, especially in the fourth and fifth sections, following the rebellion of the organization’s cells therein, which led to the outbreak of clashes between the two sides, using light and medium weapons.
The sources pointed out that an ISIS militant was killed during the said clashes. However, the losses of the “Asayish”, which was supported by US helicopters in the camp sky, were unknown. Furthermore, 3 civilians were killed as a result of the confrontations. The civilian victims are “Khaled al-Batran” (22 years), a woman from Raqqa (55 years), and “Sarah Al-Obeid”, a girl from the countryside of Deir Ezzor.
The sources pointed out that the camp was in a state of cautious calm on Tuesday morning, while the fate of the “ISIS” militants who participated in the battles and their destination were unknown.
The “Al-Hol” camp includes thousands of families of ISIS militants, most of whom are Syrians and Iraqis, in addition to a special section for foreigners. The “SDF” has previously announced that it had received information about the organization’s preparations to attack the camp with the aim of controlling it.
