Russia announces a drastic reduction of its military operations on 2 fighting axis in Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced today, that it has decided to radically reduce its hostilities on the “Kyiv” and “Chernigov” axes in northern Ukraine, in order to create favorable conditions for the continuation of peaceful negotiations between the 2 countries.
Russia’s announcement to reduce its military operations came on the lips of the Russian Deputy Defense Minister, “Alexander Fomin”, during the conclusion of the round of negotiations that took place with the Ukrainian delegation in the city of “Istanbul” this morning, where “Fomin” stated that the talks were about preparing an agreement on the neutral and non-nuclear situation in Ukraine, and provide security guarantees for it.
The Deputy Defense Minister indicated that the points that were discussed during the last negotiation session have begun to move to the practical field, taking into account the principles discussed during today’s meeting, where the Russian Defense Ministry decided to reduce military operations on the “Kyiv” and “Chernigov” axis.
Fomin explained that this decision is aimed at strengthening mutual trust and creating the necessary conditions for continuing negotiations, and achieving the ultimate goal of agreeing to sign the Ukraine Neutrality Agreement.
In turn, the chief Russian negotiator, “Vladimir Medinsky” stated that the talks that took place between Russia and Ukraine in “Istanbul” were constructive, stressing that he had received written proposals from Ukraine about its readiness to be a neutral and nuclear-free country.
This comes in conjunction with the Russian Defense Ministry’s warnings to “NATO” that the Russian forces will respond appropriately if plans to provide Ukraine with fighting aircraft and air defense systems are implemented, as Russian Defense Minister “Sergei Shoigu” stressed that his country is following the statements of leaders of “NATO” countries, regarding their intention to provide Ukraine with weapons, and if the order is implemented, the Russian response will be present.
Shoigu also announced the completion of the main task of the first phase of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, explaining that the Ukrainian army had suffered heavy losses along with foreign militants that Ukraine had used against the Russian army, especially during the past 2 weeks.
