Sources: Turkey’s attempts to enter “Ras al-Ain” resulted in 75 victims and more than 400 wounded civilians

Since the first day of its military operation in northern Syria, the Turkish army has been trying to enter the city of Ras al-Ain in the countryside of al-Hasakah without being able to do so. Their entry attempts costed many civilian casualties because of the heavy shelling that targeted the city's neighborhoods.

The sources pointed out to the “Syrian Documentation Center” that “as a result of the Turkish army bombardment on the city of Ras al-Ain, 75 civilians were killed, and more than 400 people were
injured, during the past six days”.

The Turkish army has not yet been able to concur the entire city, knowing that it has taken control
of the industrial zone located near Tishreen district, just east of the city.
Because apart from that area, the Turkish forces had to face a tremendous resistance by the SDF
which trapped large areas of the city’s neighborhoods and tunnels with bombs, stalling Turkish
progress within the city.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish army had taken control of most of the villages and towns located in
the vicinity of the city of Ras al-Ain in the countryside of al-Hasakah, while the Syrian army began its
turn since Monday morning to enter the villages and towns of the countryside of al-Hasakah, after
reaching an agreement with the “SDF”, which warns of the possibility of direct confrontation between the Turkish and the Syrian army in the battles of Ras al-Ain.
