A Turkish military convoy was targeted with a car bomb in Al-Raqqah countryside

Yesterday a car bomb targeted a military convoy consisted of a force of the Turkish army and some armed faction loyal to it near the village of "Hammam Al-Turkman" nearby "Tal Abyad" in Al-Raqqah countryside, killing and wounding a large number of the Turkish and the armed faction's soldiers.

Sources of the “Syrian Documentation Center” have confirmed that “the car bomb explosion led to the destruction of a large number of military vehicles of the convoy, in addition to the killing and wounding of a number of Turkish soldiers and armed militants.

The sources also pointed out that “Ambulances of the Turkish army have rushed to the location and closed the area without allowing anyone to approach, however, transferring of dead bodies and wounded individuals was monitored heading towards the direction of the Turkish territory.”

It is noteworthy mentioning that the Turkish army and its ally armed factions had taken control of the city of “Tal Abyad” and a number of villages in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah as well, during the month of October last year. Noting that the city itself had witnessed and still witnessing weaknesses on the security level and repeated targeting with car bombs since then.
