The Turkish forces had carried out an intensive indiscriminate shelling of populated villages in the eastern Afrin region, northwest of Aleppo, on Thursday, causing civilian casualties.

Sources of the “Syrian Documentation Center” reported that the Turkish forces stationed in “Kemar” village, south of Afrin, carried out indiscriminate shelling with heavy artillery, targeting the villages of “Kafrnaya”, “Harbel”, and “Um Hosh”, which is located in the “Shahba” area east of Afrin, controlled by the “Afrin Liberation Forces”.

The sources said that the Turkish-backed factions stationed in the city of Azaz participated in the attacks, by targeting the same villages with a large number of mortars and explosive bullets.

According to the sources, the Turkish attacks resulted in the injury of more than 5 civilians of varying severity, and caused huge material damage to the property of civilians, leading to the displacement of a large number of them towards nearby agricultural lands.

It is noteworthy mentioning that the Turkish forces were, the day before yesterday, about to a commit massacre against the people of “Aqeeba” in the countryside of Afrin, by targeting the village with dozens of shells that led to the collapse of an entire house over its residents, and the loss of 3 civilians from one family to their lives.
