Haftar: There will be no negotiations with the “Government of National Accord” before the Turkish withdrawal from Libya
“Haftar” stressed during his visit to the Egyptian capital “Cairo” with Egyptian officials to discuss the situation in the region, adding that he will not negotiate with Government of National Accord before the withdrawal of the Turks from Libya
He called on the Egyptian side to work to lift the weapons embargo on the Libyan army and to stop the Turkish incursion into the Libyan territories.
The Libyan army commander called for activating the joint Arab defense agreement to confront any direct Turkish military intervention in Libya.
He called for an international monitoring to prevent the entry of Turkish weapons and militants sent by the Turkish government to Libya.
Informed diplomatic sources told to the “Syrian Documentation Center” that the Egyptian officials reaffirmed their position rejecting foreign interference in Libya and stressed that no threat against the Egyptian-Western borders with Libya would be tolerated.
Media sources said that the head of the Libyan “Government of National Accord”, “Fayez Al-Sarraj”, will go to Ankara today to meet with officials of the Turkish government which are it’s direct supporters.
This came after the United Nations Mission in Libya announced that the two sides agreed to return to the negotiating table through the Joint Military Committee “5 + 5”.
The committee has for purpose to discuss the ceasefire and related security arrangements based on the draft agreement that the mission presented to the parties during the last round of negotiations the 23 of February.
