After the intense criticism and anger, the “SDF” backtracks on its law “protecting the absent’s property”.

The "SDF" has withdrawn its law that it previously issued under the name "Protection and Management of the Absent's Property", through which it was trying to legitimize the process of stealing civilian property in the areas under its control, after the law was met with severe criticism and a state of popular rejection among the people.

The sources of the Syrian Documentation Center stated that the “SDF” announced on Thursday the suspension of implementing its aforementioned law, due to what it described as the repercussions that could occur as a result of its implementation.

Resulting from its misunderstanding and the difference in the interpretation of its articles.

The sources added that this law caused a great media uproar, and was met with a strong rejection by the people who emphasized that it is just an excuse to facilitate the seizure of civilian homes by the “SDF”.

Noting that despite the announcement of the abolition of the law, the “SDF” stated its intention to review it and formulate it again.

The Law of “protecting and managing the absent’s roperty” formed a committee to take over the property of the Syrians who are not in the areas under the control of the “SDF”,

In what the law invoked as “protection of property,” so that the absentee would be defined in its articles as “whoever holds the Syrian nationality or Those of their rule who reside permanently outside the borders of Syria, and none of his first or second degree relatives resides in Syria”.
