Turkish forces bulldoz an archeological hill in Raqqa to steal its contents
The sources said the Turkish vehicles headed towards the hill along with military reinforcements of the Turkish army and bulldozed one of the most important archaeological sites in the region. Turkish officers claimed they wanted to set up a military base in the site of the hill.
SDC sources observed Turkish army taking out archaeological pieces and putting it into their vehicles. The vehicle then left the area, whereas other vehicles stayed there. Bulldozing continued, which is a blatant theft as Turkey smuggles Syrian ruins to sell them abroad.
Turkey had already conducted similar acts in Tal Arnada in Shekh Hadeed in Afrin in Aleppo countryside. At the time, Turkey conducted random bulldozing damaging the site to a great extent. These acts come as the factions attempt to exercise pressure against Afrin inhabitants to guide them into the unknown archaeological sites to steal them as well.
