During which it criticized the American sanctions imposed on Syria and the violations of the Turkish-backed factions.

According to the report, the civilians’ fears have increased about the problem of obtaining water, electricity and fuel, due to the economic crisis, the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, and the US economic sanctions.

Which threatens to heat up the causes of renewed conflict from poverty and inequality, as the UN committee called on the international community and the individual countries to lift those sanctions on Syria.

The committee called for an access of the independent humanitarian organizations, and to ensure the arrival of food, basic medical supplies and the preparations to face the coronavirus.

As the committee member Hani Majali attributed the cause of the devastation that occurred on the Syrian economy to the US sanctions more than anything else, in addition to their effects on the lives of the peaceful civilians.

On the other hand, the committee condemned the practices of the Turkish-backed factions in northern Syria against the civilians, and made Turkey responsible for stopping these violations as it is the controlling side over these factions.

Noting that the kidnapping, torture, demanding ransom and transporting Syrians to Turkey for trial is a war crime.

While the committee’s report proves that the sanctions risks the renewing the conflict.
