A patrol of “Al-Nusra” gunmen raided a house in the town of “Al-Foah” in the northern countryside of Idlib, searching for the defected leader, “Abu Al-Abed Ashda”, with the aim of arresting him.

An SDC local source said that the house is inhabited by a relative of “Ashda” who occupies the position of the so-called “legal judiciary” in “Al-Nusra” camps, but this did not intercede for not breaking into his house and assaulting him by the patrol members.

The source added that the gunmen stormed the house, so the judge tried to prevent them and introduce himself and his position, but they did not pay attention to that and beat him severely. They broke into the house and searched for “Ashda” but did not find him, so they arrested his brother as a pressure.

It was not clear whether “Ashda” succeeded in escaping from the house, or he was not there from the start, and the reason behind “Al-Nusra” decision to re-arrest him at this time, as it had previously arrested and released him.

“Ashda”, who was a prominent leader in “Al-Nusra”, broadcast in / 2019 / a video clip in which he revealed the scandals and corruption of “Al-Nusra” leadership. His accusations reached Al-Nusra leader, “Abu Muhammad Al-Julani” and the surrounding circle, to be arrested in September of the same year against the background of his statement, but he was released in early 2020.

After his withdrawal from Al-Nusra and leaving its prisons, Ashda resumed his military activity and formed a takfiri faction called the Coordination of Jihad. He joined to “Fa’ethbato” operations room, which gathered the jihadi factions and leaders who had defected from “Al-Nusra” and entered into a direct confrontation with it.
