The US Secretary of State refuses to acknowledge the occupation’s sovereignty over the Syrian Golan.
The US Secretary of State “Anthony Blinken” refused to support the previous American administration’s recognition of the Israeli occupation’s sovereignty over the occupied Syrian “Golan”.
Blinken said in a press statement that he believes that controlling the Golan in this situation remains of real importance for Israel’s security, adding that the legal questions are something else, and with the passage of time if the situation in Syria changes, then this is something they will discuss, but we’re not close to that in any way.
The American minister considered that the Syrian government and Iran pose a major threat to the occupation entity, as he said in his first statement on the Syrian “Golan” file, in which he revoked the declaration of former president Donald Trump in 2019 from the official recognition of the occupation’s sovereignty on the “Golan”.
However, the advisors of the current president “Joe Biden” announced earlier that the American administration wouldn’t withdraw the recognition of the Israeli sovereignty over the “Golan”, while Blinken confirmed that the current administration would commit to maintaining the American embassy in occupied Jerusalem, but that it would restore the relations with the Palestinians after Trump cut it off.
It’s noteworthy that the new US administration is currently taking a series of decisions and measures through which it tries to change the course of the US policies in the era of “Trump”, including “Washington’s” foreign relations.
